Floyd Mayweather Jr. Sentenced to 90 Days in Jail

Floyd Mayweather Jr. was sentend to 90 days in jail today in Nevada after pleading guilty to a domestic violence charge.

“Punishment is appropriate,” Justice of the Peace Melissa Saragosa said after a prosecutor noted that Mayweather has been in trouble before and hasn’t faced serious consequences. “No matter who you are, you have consequences to your actions when they escalate to this level of violence.”

The sentence is set to begin January 6, 2012. Good behavior may knock some time off of the sentence. Mayweather declined comment after the court hearing.
