Atlanta Falcons Player Charged with DUI after MNF

Last night, just hours after rushing for over 40 yards and a touchdown in the Atlanta Falcons’ win over the Broncos on Monday Night Football, running back Michael Turner was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in Georgia.

Turner was booked into Gwinnett County Jail just after 5 a.m. and was released a few hours later after posting bond. Turner was also charged with speeding.

DUI is a serious crime in most states, including Florida. In Florida a first time DUI is a misdemeanor criminal offense punishable by jail time and or fines, probation, community service, and other sanctions. Additionally, you cannot receive a “withhold” on a DUI, meaning you can’t have it expunged. In fact, a DUI will stay on your driving record for 75 years!
