Ten men who, according to Pinellas deputies, used the Internet to try to meet and have sex with minors over the weekend face serious sex-crime charges. During a four-day sting operation, investigators posed as minors on online classified pages, social media sites, chat rooms, and other online platforms according to the Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office.
Although the men were arrested for the crime of traveling to meet a minor, other charges were also involved. This is a serious sex crime in Florida that carries harsh penalties, including prison time, fines, and life time sex offender status. In the case of these ten men, charges even included possesion of marijuana and drug paraphernalia.
