Saturday, May 18, 2013 – Compliance Checks Conducted in Hillsborough County – Sale of Alcohol to a Minor Lawyer

If you are a bartender, store clerk, or owner of a business selling alcohol, be aware: this weekend HCSO is conducting “compliance checks” to determine if you are selling alcohol to minors.

A compliance check is a tool used by HCSO to identify licensed retailers that sell alcohol to underage purchasers. Sellers are aware of the fact that selling alcohol to underage individuals is a criminal offense. These sting operations occur where a HCSO agent goes into a store/bar and attempts to buy a drink without ID. Generally, during these stings multiple arrests of bartenders and store clerks are made.

If you have been charged with this offense, it is important to hire an attorney. Aside from the criminal charge, your store’s license may be revoked or suspended. Call us today at 813-281-2897 for a free, confidential consultation.
